What is a ROD?

ROD standards for Record of Discussion. Its document completed in the FCELSPx application for capturing issues with construction.

I am unable to create a ROD. Who can raise a ROD and who they can send it to?

  • ROD - Trade to AE
  • ROD - Trade to Integration
  • ROD - AE to Integration
  • ROD-instruction - AE to Trade
  • ROD-instruction - Integration to Trade

Only the permitted user roles are allowed to create a ROD ticket. Check that you have the correct role in the system under “My Profile” page. If your role is incorrect, you can assign yourself a correct low-level role and immediately get access.

What is happening to RODs?

RODs is migrating from FCEConnect to a new application, called FCELSPx.

Do I continue using FCE Connect after 14 February 2024? Or will there be some overlap?

  • 12 February 2024 is the last day to make changes to RODs in FCEConnect. All RODs in the FCEConnect system must be CLOSED by the end of the day.
  • On 13 February 2024, you will not be able to create any RODs in FCEConnect or FCELSPx. Use this time to solidify the discussion aspect of the ROD process.
  • From 14 February 2024, the migration will be complete and you can start using the FCELSPx application for your RODs. From this day, all RODs in FCEConnect will be in READ ONLY.

What's happening to my existing RODs in FCEConnect?

From the 14 February 2024, all new RODs must be raised in FCELSPx. All previously existing RODs from FCEConnect will be migrated over to FCELSPx. You will be able to view but not action these old RODs.

Can I access FCELSPx on my company's laptop?

  • Using NON-Intel emails, you can now access the FCELSPx application outside the Intel Network and complete Microsoft Authentication.
  • If you use INTEL emails, please access the FCELSPx application on the Intel Network and complete Microsoft Authentication.

What's happening to the PIP application?

From the 14 February 2024, the PIP application will be merged into the FCELSPx application. This is because FCELSPx is an extension of PIP with more features. PIP will eventually be sunset, and all users will use FCELSPx in a similar way they currently use PIP. FCELSPx has more functionality such as the Leadsheet, which is currently available in Israel and Arizona.

I see an error message when trying to clear security with Microsoft Single Sing-On. What do I do?

To use FCELSPx, your company's IT Admin must be approved to use Microsoft Single Sign-On for authentication. You must use official company email to login to the application. If you see an error message that your domain does not exist in the database, please contact your company IT support.

Who can raise a ROD and ROD-Instruction?

  • The Trade is limited to raising ROD tickets directed only towards the AE or Integration team.
  • The AE can raise ROD tickets for the Integration team. Additionally, they can issue ROD-Instructions directed at the Trade.
  • The Integration team plays a more directive role, where they are responsible for raising ROD-Instructions to the Trade.

How can I easily clear my browser cookies without losing my entire history?

If the application is not functioning for you as expected. Follow our user guide on how to clear browser cookies and reload the application.

Are Task Owners automatically populated?

Depending on your selections, the Task Owners are automatically populated in the "Assignee" field when creating the ROD. Once created, you will see the list of Task Owners on the created ticket.

How can I add a user if I cannot find the user I am looking for in the Assignee field?

If the person you're looking for isn't listed in the Assignee field, add them by clicking the edit button and Add user. It's crucial to enter their details accurately and to use official company emails only. The system will add a new user once it verifies their company in the database. The newly added user must be in the correct company before appearing in the assignee field.

Can the Tool Owner be notified about the RODs?

Yes, you can add the Tool Owners “Watchers”. Simply search their name under the "Watchers" field. They will receive notifications about the ROD if you add their name to the ticket.

Can I notify other users that are not directly involved in the issue?

Yes, you can include any user in the database as a “Watcher”. Simply search their name under the "Watchers" field. They will receive notifications about the ROD if you add their name to the ticket.

Why is my workflow different? How do I raise an issue with the workflow?

The Workflow that you see for a ROD depends on your User Type. The workflows have been agreed with Intel. Please consult with your Intel Design Manager if you have any concerns with the workflow process. Refer to the User Guide for individual ROD workflows and their transitions.

What is the purpose of the My Profile page?

You will be able to manage your low-level roles within your profile page. Administrator roles must be approved by another administrator.

I am unable to manage my subscription. What should I do?

There has been a decision to suspend the subscription functionality for the initial release. This will be available in the near future. Managing your subscription will allow you to control the email notifications you want to receive on your project. You can specify the Functional Areas and CEiDs you want to be notified about to reduce unnecessary emails.

What can I expect to see in the email notifications?

The email notifications will contain all the fields available on the ROD form, and notifications will be sent out with every change in the ticket status to appropriate users.

Are there more features for the RODs on the way?

Yes, we have received multiple feedbacks for enhancements and documented them appropriately. We will be rolling out new features after the first release in February 2024.

What's happening with DAC, DCRs and SDD in FCEConnect?

These issue types will also be migrated to the FCELSPx application at a later date in 2024. Necessary communications will be sent out before migration.

How do I know who the AE Design Lead is on my project?

Every ROD ticket displays the AE Design Lead for the tool [if the are assigned correctly in the system]. If an AE Design Lead is missing on the tool, you can escalate to the Design Managers on your project.

How can I make changes or delete the ROD?

The AE Design Lead and the AE Administrator on the project have the permissions to edit or delete a ROD. Contact the AE Design Lead on the ROD ticket to change ROD Type, Assigned Company, Assignee, and Watchers. If an AE Design Lead is missing on the tool, you can escalate to the Design Managers on your project.

How do I know the fields that are dependent on others?

Refer to the User Guide to understand the field dependencies.

I have added a user that is within the company group, but they are still not appearing in the "Assignee" field".
